RARE' Description Historically important box camera made by The Blair Camera Co. of Boston.  It is 5.5 x 9 x 6.5 inches, and used 4x5 film that was supplied on a roll with paper backing.  It has the original two wood spools included, both empty.  This is the camera that started a legal fight between Thomas Blair and George Eastman over patent rights to the rollfilm principle. I have had the camera about 25 years and when I first got it I used a single sheet of 4 x5 cut film to actually make a photo with it.   I don't know what happened to it, or I would include it in the photos. The shutter worked fine and still does.  I did not try to focus, leaving the distance setting where it was when I got the camera.  The bellows did not leak light at the time but it is very dried out and I think it would break if exercised.  The glass lens is fine.  The front element screws out to allow cleaning.  To my knowledge everything in the original camera is included except the lens plug, which of course is not a functional item. As you see, quite a bit of the original (leather?) covering has been worn off.   The leather handle is intact and usable.  With some restoration it can be a great addition to a historic camera collection.   U.S. buyer pays package and ship cost of 18.50 via Priority Mail.  Insurance included.
