Description
SquareTrade © AP6.0 A brand new Tobin Video Transfer regular-8 TVT-R8M telecine with important advantages over the dated and likely worn-out Elmo TRV units out there, and also compared to gadgets that are foisted off on an unsuspecting public: Frame by frame scanning in real time while the film is momentarily stationary in the gate, so each video field contains information from just one film frame. Totally flickerless running because of electronic shuttering instead of a physical shutter. Three flickerless crystal controlled speeds. The speeds are approximately 9, 16-18 and 24 FPS (frames per second) or precisely 8.563, 17.126 and 25.689 FPS. The center speed is very close to the 16 and 18 FPS original filming rates for 8mm film, far closer than the 20 FPS of an Elmo or Goko sprocketed projector which still has slight residual flicker. Two automatic exposure modes plus full manual. Digital footage counter, so no customer arguments if you can write a precise figure on their bill. A completely self contained device with projector, optical system and camera in one heavy duty unit. Connect to your recorder and monitor and go! High quality CCD camera with 480 line resolution, and both Y/C S-video and Composite outputs. Camera undergoes proprietary computer firmware adjustments to the DSP (digital signal processing) by us, for superior results from film. Operates on any line (mains) voltage, 100 to 240 volts and 50 or 60 Hz with standard detachable IEC power cord. Wide spectrum white LED (light emitting diode) light source should last for many years. No strange hard-to-find, not-bright-enough, expensive light bulbs to hunt for. No infrared or ultraviolet to heat or fade the film. Diffused source softens the visibility of the film's existing scratches, and a cosine corrector disc is fitted for near perfectly even film illumination. Connects directly to your DVD, MiniDV or VHS recorder. No computer needed, or you can connect to a computer analog video inputs if you wish. This particular model does not reproduce the audio from sound film. The basic mechanism is a rebuilt and modified Bell & Howell modular unit (since unfortunately nobody is making new movie projectors these days) while the remainder of the TVT is brand new. Sprocketless design so no continuously shredded sprocket holes after a bad splice. Fast and easy manual threading. Rapid motorized rewind operates without running the mechanism. Preferred reels are 400' size lightweight plastic with a large center hub where the film winds up. For small, heavy or old style small hub reels a low friction Nylon washer is first placed on the Supply reel spindle to reduce the drag. Superior image integrity and stability with direct 1:1 macro imaging to the CCD. No condenser lens, field lens, mirror, grainy groundglass screen with center hot spot and dark corners, no cheap projection lens, no not-quite-sharp zoom lens, no poor quality "coke bottle bottom" close-up lens, no flimsy wobbling plastic mountings, no flickering conventional projector's shutter to spoil the results. This new machine comes with the normal warranty and instruction manual, plus necessary cables and an empty reel. The catalog page can be previewed on the Tobin website at http://www.tobincinemasystems.com/page18.html and the instructions, detailed specifications and a selection guide can be previewed at a link there. Sorry, PAL people! This particular item is ONLY for NTSC (USA type) video as it is already totally complete and sitting on the shelf. Other options, not included in this unit, include: NTSC or PAL, 3CCD camera, Component video outputs, Progressive Scan, magnetic sound playback at exact 18 and 24 FPS speeds, sprocketed automatic threading, meters or feet counting, and versions for dual-8, super-8 and 16mm film. Kindly refer to the Tobin Cinema Systems website for our other available models: www.TobinCinemaSystems.com . This unit is subject to prior sale and listing cancellation if someone buys it directly. Our current order backlog for a unit built to order for you is about 4 weeks. We do have a super-8 PAL machine also listed. Click on "view seller's other items" above to find it and to see our other wild and woolly listings. Shipping rates on the chart are not correct as we usually send by DHL, and the box is oversized. Thanks for looking.
