Description
Disneyland Vintage Slides / Photos. 3-D Stereo Realist Incredible shots from the early years at Disneyland! Up for sale is an incredible set of DISNEYLAND STEREO REALIST SLIDES. These are 3-Dimensional images of Disneyland in April of 1960. I like seeing vintage Disneyland photos, but I love these stereo shots because the images really come to life when they are in 3D. For those of you who know about 3-D images, then you know how cool these images can look. For those who don't know... Stereo or 3-D (three-dimensional) imaging is any technique that creates the illusion of depth in an image. The illusion of depth is created by presenting a slightly different image to each eye. Type "stereo realist" into Google and you'll see some of the equipment used to take these photos. There are 33 professionally mounted glass pairs (mounted in original 1950's Realist Permamounts). These slides are a step back in time to when Disneyland was just under 5 years old. These are excellent shots taken by a photographer who really knew how to handle Stereo shooting. The film is in good shape and the color is holding up well. The slides include some great images. I am including a list of everything I could see in the slides. Some of the places/attractions listed below are the main focus of the shot, but I am also describing everything that I see in the frame. The actual images are much clearer and brighter than you can see in my scans (and remember, the film is being protected in a glass mount). So, take a look and you can see:Story Book Land Boat Loading with Monstro the WhaleMad Tea Party TeacupsDumbo RideMickey Mouse Club TheaterMatterhorn (First Full Year After Opening)Skyway (Older Bucket Style)Disneyland Alweg MonorailAutopia (with very cool original cars... This might be a shot of the Midget Autopia, but I'm not sure)Casey Jones Jr RailroadChicken of the Sea Pirate Ship RestaurantPeter Pan RideMr. Toad's Wild RideHouse of the FutureRocket RideMain Street Transportation (Motor and Horse Drawn)Main Street Shops Penny ArcadePuffin Bake ShopCandy PalacePavilionSwiftYaleOtis SkinnerCrystal ArcadeCarnation CompanyFlower MarketGeneral Park ScenesPeopleBenchesTrash CansUmbrellasTreesConstruction Cranes (Disneyland was growing and expanding at the time)Phone BoothFood Stands Marching BandStrollersTicket Booths (remember having to buy those extra "E" tickets)Tomorrowland Art Corner (Wow, what a missed opportunity... A store where you could buy original Disney Art and Animation Cels for low prices)Entrance to Tomorrowland with a peek of the TWA MoonlinerMonorail over the Submarine Lagoon (with the older gray sub coloring)Main Street StationModel Airplane Ring (where kids--and adults--could practice model airplane flying)Matterhorn Loading Queue/LineAlice in Wonderland RideRose Garden Outside Main GateFlowers from Main Street Flower CartDisneyland Warehouses/Storage (over the wall behind Story Book Land)View from INSIDE the Matterhorn looking out (taken from the Skyway)Fantasyland ShopsSleeping Beauty's CastleAgain, old Disneyland photos are cool, but 3-D Stereo ones are fantastic. Two of the slides have a glass crack, but the film inside the glass is not damaged. These two slides could be remounted, or have new glass put in, but they really don't need to be since the image can still be viewed easily. You will need a Stereo Slide viewer to se these slides in true 3D. They can be found on eBay, or if you need one, let me know and I can set up a different auction where you can purchase a nice vintage viewer.Don't miss an opportunity that is second only to being at Disneyland. This set is being sold at a price that nets out to $10/slide. You can buy vintage photos for about the same price, but they are not in 3D, and they are usually prints. These are original, vintage, one-of-a-kind transparencies. Buyer to pay $10 for insured, trackable shipping. I prefer PayPal. Thanks for looking. Auction Terms & Conditions: I prefer PayPal.
