Description
The BVP-550 Portable camera is designed as the top BVP series camera with Digital 1000 DSP chips. Utilizing the same 10 bit DSP processing this camera provides all the controls of the larger studio system. This unit may be docked with a CA-550 Triax camera adapter for studio use or a CA-553 for docking to available Betacam SP or Betacam SX recorders. The camera is in perfect working condition. Sony BVP-550 is selling between $7000-7500 on EBAY and this one is priced to sell very quickly. The camera is in excellent condition and comes with a Sony BVF-10 viewfinder and Sony microphone. Features:Features for the upgraded model BVP-550//A High performance - and stable, consistent performance Digital 1000 DSP chip Dramatic simplification of PC board circuitry Elimination of dozens of potentiometer controls (traditionally associated with camera video processing) Reliability and stability over extended time periods Reduction in maintenance and alignment Cost reduction of total electronics The high-technology Hyper HADâ„¢ 1000 Imager increases the sensor aperture ratio, and the micro-lens system effectively converges the incident light onto each photo sensor. This endows the BVP-550 with a very high operational sensitivity - f8.0 at 2000 lux. With an F1.4 Lens at wide open aperture and +18dB master gain, full amplitude luminance video is achieved with only 7.5 lux scene illumination. The 520,000 element array CCD, combined with Sony's advanced sub-micron manufacturing techniques (which achieve a highly precise pixel spatial offset between the G and R/B imagers) and an optimized optical pre-filter, provides an outstanding horizontal 74% MTF at 400 TVL/ph, and limiting resolution of more than 900 TVL/ph. The Hyper HAD 1000 Imager has a high well capacity which elevates imaging capability at the upper extremity of light level - while the photosensors HAD technology dramatically lowers the dark current at the lower extremity. The combination of extending both boundaries endows this CCD with an unprecedented 600% effective dynamic range. The use of the Hyper HAD 1000 Imager in the BVP-550 requires an extremely high sampling frequency of 18MHz. This high sampling frequency, in combination with an exclusive design of wideband optical low-pass filter, reduces aliasing to a level never achieved in conventional CCD cameras. The Hyper HAD 1000 Imager structure lowers dark current by a factor of 10, providing almost invisible fixed pattern noise under high gain operation. Numerous refinements to the CCD sensor, and advanced electronic processing of the CCD output signal together achieve an excellent signal to noise ratio - 62dB typical. Sony's excellent techniques in CCD overload drain design provides superbly anti-blooming characteristics - even on the most severe of highlights. Total absence of blooming, comet-tailing, and image retention allow unprecedented new creative freedom in imaging - particularly in outdoor OB applications.
