By adjusting the aperture of the digital camera and matching it on the YS-25AUTO, the amount of light is automatically adjusted depending on the filming distance. The pre-flash controller prevents the strobe from accidentally firing as a result of red-eye reduction pre-flash. Not only is the YS-25AUTO great for underwater photography, but it can also be used topside to expand the limited capability of the digital camera's built-in flash. The Sea & Sea YS-25 TTL/E Flash has a 6-step guide number controller is used when the camera doesn't have E-TTL exposure control. The strobe's built-in pre-flash controller makes it compatible with most compact digital cameras on the market. The flash synchronizes with a unique fiber optic cord for a flood free connection. The fiber optic cable transmits light from the camera's built in flash, so in a sense it works like a slave strobe. To conserve power, the YS-25TTL/E has energy-saving auto-power-off circuitry that shuts off power if the strobe is not used for seven minutes. To prevent gas build-up in the strobe, it comes with a Sea & Sea standard over-pressure release valve that releases any excess gas generated through operation. The sea arm bracket with built in tray is also included in this kit. The sea arm is constructed of fiber glass with fortified nylon making it rigid to keep the strobe in the right position. Extremely lightweight and compact, the sea arm has a rubber grip that provides a comfortable handhold. It is made up of two 5.1" sections.
