It is an Olympic S3 with the faster Olympic 50mm F/1.4 lens. Production of the S3, in the form of this special edition for the XVIII Olympic games in Tokyo in 1964, was resumed three years after production of the regular S3 had ended. Some parts of the Nikon F, in production at the same time, were used to assemble the S3 Olympic, such as the rapid advance lever, self-timer, and rewind lever. The special edition camera is equipped exclusively with the titanium shutter. Notable too is the depth of field scale in metric. Serial numbers begin with number 6320001 and the last Olympic has the number 6322561. The serial number of this camera is 6322247. At the time of its introduction, Nikon also offered for sale the faster 50mm f/1.4 Nikkor lens which is included in this auction. The lens is clean and clear and comes with original lens cap, serial number 140350. The camera is in mint- condition; no brassing and only a few very minor scratches on the base plaate. It has a lens shade (ED logo) and front cap both Nippon Kogaku Tokyo and an original Nkon S3 box (no serial # on the bottom). Last such camera with the collection so don't miss out.
