Description
This is a lightly used Questar 7" Maksutov-Cassegrain telescope. It has the Cer-Vit mirror construction. Along with the the telescope come 40-80x and 80-160x eyepieces, a very heavy-duty Linhof tripod, and Miller Fluid Head Model F mount. As many people have noticed, the wide-field construction, broadband and VLR coatings that appear on the invoice were for another Questar (3.5" model) telescope that my grandfather must have possessed. The 7" telescope has a standard aluminum primary mirror coating, which is why there appears to be no degradation of the mirror. This setup works wonderfully. With the more powerful eyepiece, good detail can be seen in the clouds of Jupiter and rings of Saturn. My father and I used this telescope a lot when I was a child and saw many neat things, such as M31 and the Ring nebula, but I never got the chance to try taking photos with it. It has served it's purpose for me in keeping me interested in science, and now I must pay for college. Hopefully this great piece of equipment will be able to provide someone else with the same thing it gave me.I have the original invoice for the telescope, which was purchased by my grandfather in 1968.Buyer pays for shipping; local pickup is preferred.
