Description
I am selling my Polaroid Sprintscan 120 medium format film scanner. It is in excellent condition. I am also including the necessary firewire cable (SCSI is also optional with this scanner), a custom built medium format glass film holder, and an individually measured IT8 calibration slide. I will also include a custom profile created using the included IT8 slide (the profile was created with x-rite profiling software). The custom profile along with instructions will be emailed to the purchaser of the scanner. Instead of the usual film holders that generally come with this, I am only including the custom made glass film holder. This is by far the best solution for edge to edge film flatness. The standard medium format film holder warped the film, thus creating blurry corners with many films. This solution is also better than the optional glass film holder that can be purchased here: http://www.bhphotovideo.com/bnh/controller/home?ci=0&shs=120tf&sb=ps&pn=1&sq=desc&InitialSearch=yes&O=jsp%2FRootPage.jsp&A=search&Q=*&bhs=t&Go.x=0&Go.y=0&Go=submitThe reason this custom solution is better is because it only uses one piece of glasses between the light source and the film. There is no glass (which softens the image) between the film surface and the CCD sensor's lens. Please refer to the following scanhancer site why this system is best:http://www.scanhancer.com/index.php?art=41&men=3Although I don't include any 35mm slide holders, they can still be purchased from microtek (ask for their 120tf scanner). Otherwise one can also tape 35mm film to the bottom of the medium format glass carrier. Also included in the auction is a Wolf Faust 35mm IT8 calibration slide that has been INDIVIDUALLY MEASURED. Generally only the medium format IT8 transparencies are measured individually. This particular one happened to be measured individually as part of Wolf Faust's quality control process. The individually measured ones go for $70 plus shipping. Please refer to Wolf's site: http://www.targets.coloraid.de/The latest drivers/software can be downloaded from Polaroid's website here: http://www.polaroid.com/service/product.jsp?PRODUCT%3C%3Eprd_id=845524441760084&FOLDER%3C%3Efolder_id=2534374302034641&bmUID=1219793344871&bmLocale=en_US I guarantee that scans performed with this scanner (particularly with the custom profile and glass film holder) are of the highest quality. Should you not be happy with the purchase, I will take the scanner back. I would refund the full purchase price. Shipping fares are not refundable. The purchaser would have to pay for shipping (this is to protect myself from abuse). I am only going to ship to the US and CANADA. Shipping to the 48 states is $50. Shipping to Hawaii, Alaska, and Canada is $100 at auction. If shipping turns out to be less, I will refund the difference via paypal after shipping the item. Local pickup is always an option.Although I would prefer to ship only to the US and CANADA, I might make an exception for a true gentleman/woman from the UK, France, or Germany. Shipping would probably be at least $100 (I would charge exact postage fare). I would not accept returns from those three countries. Email me for a sample image scanned with this scanner.
