The box is a little "tatty", but it is original to this camera. The ser. no. matches the box. The ser. no. is:7799178. The black finish is 98% perfect. The meter works and the battery test button also works, (this is not usually the case on these cameras). The shutter-speeds work and are accurately. This is by comparison, I don't have a shutter checker. There are those Nikon collectors that claim that the F2 AS was the peak of technology among the camera manufactors, during the use of film in the days of the great magazines of that time: Life, Look, National Geographic, and ect. it was a bench-mark for Nikon and was the equivalent of the Nikon SP, rangefinder camera, for single lens reflex cameras.
