The easiest way to tell if a Minolta telephoto lens is "HS" or not is by checking for the gray "focus stop buttons" towards the rear of the lens. Focus stop buttons function correctly. There are no problems with this lens. Lens Mount: Excellent! There is no wear visible on the mount.
