Made in 1994 it has the improvements Meade made to the 8"  optical tubes to improve contrast and late enhanced multi-coatings formulation. As offerred this optical tube is specially equipped to be mounted on a German Equatorial Mount (GEM). As such is has been fitted with Meade's cast alloy dovetail bracket and the Vixen form factor dovetail. It is ready to use on any GEM accepting the Vixen style (1.75" wide) dovetail. A late model 8X/50mm finder scope and bracket are also included. This is a made in USA unit. It was produced before Meade's latest financial troubles and movement of SCT production to China. It is getting harder to find a Meade SCT optical tube assembly of this quality in this condition.
