It's much smaller and lighter than most 35mm SLRs, and the interchangeable lenses are tiny. The camera is a proper SLR with through the lens viewing and interchangeable lenses (not included - see below), and this one is in black finish, which is much less common than the titanium coloured version. The viewfinder is excellent, and clearly shows the three print formats possible with APS: C (Classic, 6x4-inch prints, the same shape as 35mm), H (HDTV Widescreen, 7x4-inch prints) and P (Panoramic, 10x4-inch prints). A dioptre control can be adjusted to suit the eyesight of the user, and amber/green LEDs indicate flash and AF status. An LCD panel on the rear of the camera displays shutter speeds and apertures.The exposure system has several modes including fully auto (program), shutter priority, aperture priority and five subject-biased modes; portraits, landscapes, close-ups, action and night shots. Shutter speeds from 30 seconds to 1/1000th are available, with flash sync at up to 1/90th. Built-in flash, with auto/on/off/anti-redeye settings. There's no shoe for external flashguns, but suitable Minolta wireless flashes can be used. There's a range of special APS features; print quantity selection, date and title printing on the front OR back of the prints, print quality improvement, etc. APS film is still available - you can't use 35mm film in APS cameras. The camera, lenses and flash are even splash proof, so you can use them safely in light rain or snow!An excellent APS camera body!CONDITION and ACCESSORIESMint- (almost as new) The camera is in very good condition with only the usual small signs of use, including some minor surface marks here and there but no dents, dings or deep scratches. COMPATIBILITY INFORMATION There was a system of lenses and accessories made for the Vectis S cameras (not included). The following lenses were available: 22-80mm, 25-150mm, 28-56mm, 56-170mm, 80-240mm APO, 50mm macro and 400mm mirror. There was a 17mm ultra wide angle lens for the Dimage RD3000 digital SLR camera, which also seems to work on the S models. Effective focal lengths are around 25 per cent longer due to the APS film being smaller than 35mm, and several of these lenses also have a manual focus option. An MC-V1 adapter was made (not included) to use Minolta AF Dynax/Maxxum lenses (with manual focusing and other restrictions) on Vectis SLR cameras, but this is now extremely rare and collectable - please contact us for more information.
