Description
Beautiful immaculate condition Leica Super Wide Angle/Wide Angle Tri Elmar. Lens Number 4009776 With its impressive angle of view of 107°, this new TRI-ELMAR conquers 16 mm super wide-angle photography in perfect Leica M style. One year old and hardly ever used, this lens is in immaculate condition having been kept in it's leather pouch in a dust-free cabinet. There are no scratches or marks on the barrel and the glass is pristine. ADDED BONUS: This lens comes with the beautifully engineered JOHN MILICH custom filter adaptor and the Leica IR cut filter attached to the adapter, The John Milich WATE adapter option: allows mounting the glass from a 49mm filter and the standard hood to the lens: A retaining ring for the glass is included. Finally, the standard lens hood is mounted on the adapter. This option is elegant, leaves the lens design with its small front and hood untouched and only adds a few mm to the lenght of the lens. This is a value of $150.00 for the adapter and $100.00 for the filter. It replaces the large 67mm lens hood and its filter. PLEASE NOTE: This lens does NOT include the Universal Viewfinder as seen in my photos of the original box. That has been sold separately. This lens has increased in value in the past year. The ultra compact shape is achieved by two aspherical elements. A new design of the interior focusing significantly enhances the quality in the close-focus range through an adaption of the floating element principle. Brilliant field depth can therefore be used from a distance of 0.33 m for hyperfocal photography. The Leica Tri-Elmar-M 16-18-21mm f/4 Aspherical Lens gives incredible versatility & optical brilliance to the Leica shooter who doesn't need the higher speed of the single-focal-length lenses. The Tri-Elmar is not a zoom, but a three-focal-length lens offering 16mm, 18mm and 21mm choices with a simple twist. Due to the minimal distortion and barely perceptible field curvature, it can be recommended for highly demanding architecture photography even at the 16mm setting. Used on the digital M8, it produces the image effect of a 21 - 28 mm lens, still enabling extreme wide-angle views. This lens has been updated with the "6-bit" coding, which allows the digital M camera to read this information optically and to identify which lens is being used. The camera can then (optionally) apply a "final stage" software-based vignetting correction (for RAW images the lens used is simply recorded, no change is made). The lens comes in all original packaging with all original paperwork.
