Image quality is very impressive, very sharp even in wide open on film M camera and digital M8 camera, which is not comparable quality from the later non-aspherical version. Although both versions has similar optical design, their glasses materials are totally different. Besides the optical design, this lens has better building material and better mechanic design. The production of this lens is only last for around 5 years, from 1961 to 1966 and kept in very low production during the whole production period. The lens can be used on all Leica M type cameras included M2, M3, M4, M4-2, M4-P, M5, M6, M6TTL, M7, MP and M8 without any problem.
