Description
Koni Rapid Omega 100 (S#39373) 6x7cm (Ideal Format) RFDR camera with 90mm f/3.5 Super Omegon (S#709143) and 120 back (S#106542). Condition: EX++. No Reserve. Bigger negatives than a Hasselblad and faster flash-sync than a Pentax 67! If you can live with the limited range of lenses (58mm Wide [a Biogon formula], 90mm Normal [tack-sharp Tessar], the stupidly rare 135mm, which I've seen once in my life--and the 180mm Tele... all excellent performers even by modern standards) this "Texas Leica" is for you. (The 6x7cm negative is four times larger than a 35mm!) Although designed as a Press camera (for hand-held, rapid-response candids) I like to think of it as a field camera--perfect for landscapes. You must make prints over 16" x 20" to see the difference between 6x7cm and 4x5-inch negatives. It's built like tank and heavy as a brick--weighing over four pounds. Note: No batteries. Superb optics. No vibration on shutter release--no mirror flop or focal-plane shutter plop. Excellent broad-based rangefinder for precise focus and spot-on parallax correction. This particular camera is in exceptional condition. (See my detailed images.) The only brassing I can find is by the lens-mount dark slide slot. Everything functions as designed. The view/rangefinder is clear, accurate and properly aligned--with sharp "bright lines". The rightfully acclaimed Super Omegon 90mm f/3.5 (to f/32) lens has no scratches, cleaning marks, fungus, dust or haze. The shutter speeds are crisp, within tolerance--right down a full second. The 120 back works properly, advancing the film smoothly and easily with no frame overlap. Also included is the original Omegon lens cap.
