Description
KONVAS 1KCP-1M 35MM MOTION PICTURE CAMERA The camera is fully functional as well as the motor and power unit. You can start filming right away and it will last you many years to come. In this auction you will receive the following: 1 Konvas 1KCP-1M 35mm Motion Picture Camera (Fully Functional) 1 Upgraded 15EPSS Motor (Fully Functional) 1 Upgraded Rechargeable Power Unit for the 15EPSS Motor (inlcudes new rechargeable 6V SLR battery) (Fully Functional) 1 XLR Recharger for the Power Unit and battery (Fully Functional) 1 35mm LOMO prime lens, OKC11-35-1 F=2.0 with UV filter and lens cap 5 60m magazines for the Konvas 1M (each with removable film protector) -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Details About the Camera The camera was serviced recently and is in perfect working condition. It operates smoothly. There is no rust. The moving parts of the camera such as the shutter, viewfinder and latches all operate smoothly. You can load film and start filming with this camera upon arrival. The viewer ground glass is your standard academy frame. The ground glass was also marked for widescreen. The ground glass has never been brightened. Details About the 35mm Lomo Lens The glass is clean, clear all the way through and scratch free. The turning mechanisms on the lens turn smoothly. Details About Upgraded Motor & Power Unit and Recharger The motor and power unit were upgraded by Olex Services in the Ukraine and will last you a long time. The motor and power unit are fully functional and you can recharge and keep recharging on the same battery (included). The motor (which runs the camera) attaches to the camera and connects by cable to the power unit. There is a button on the motor, when pushed, runs the camera and spins the film The power unit has an on-off switch and a dial to change the speed. The speeds are 8fps, 16fps, 24fps, 24fps high power and 32fps. The camera runs smoothly at all speeds. (The speeds 24fps high power and 32fps are only supposed to be used for 1 or 2 minutes by design because of the temperature increase, the other speeds can be used constantly.) There is a 6V Rechargeable SLR battery inside the power unit. The motor and power unit were originally designed to use an 8.5V silver battery. Every one of these cameras I've seen for sale on eBay do not come with a battery and have not been modified so people would need to go out and find an easy-to-get 12V battery but this is not good. To use a 12V battery with the motor and power unit will heat it up too much and ruin it over time. So, the power unit and motor were modified to use a 6V battery, run fine at all speeds and not damage itself over time. Also, the power unit was modified with an XLR input to recharge the battery. The XLR charger is also included and can be plugged into your common North American wall outlet (2 prong). There is a red light on the charger that indicates power coming in. Also, the power unit was modifed with a microprocessor-controlled display that indicates the voltage level of the battery. When recharging the number increments up to 7 after which it display FUL to indicte that the battery is full. Also, there is a red button on the power unit, when pushed displays the voltage level of the battery. This is for testing the battery. See the images below for a better understanding. Details About the Mags Also included are five 60 meter magazines (2 out of the 5 run smooth, 3 out of the 5 don't have any major problems except that they should be lubricated) (I can send you a link to a howto lube konvas mags, may be a good way for you to get familiar with them as you would need to lubricate them from time-to-time in the future.) (I will include an index card with the items to indicate which mags need to be lubricated. Each mag has its own serial # so I will specify which ones are good and which need lubrication by serial #.) Each one of these magazines has a removable cover over the pressure plate to protect the film back part of the mag. There is a gauge on the back of each mag from 0 to 60. Each one of the mags was tested and you can see the gauge go down to 0 as the film runs to the end. The only problem with the 3 specific mags is that the film does not spin smoothly because they need lubrication. Will Include a Roll of Practice Film I will also include a practice roll of 30 meter kodak color negative test film that you can use to practice loading the magazines, this film has already been exposed to light, it will not be good and only used to practice loading film so that you can do it while the film is in the dark. So you would load this film into a magazine, then put the magazine into the camera and run the motor until the film ends. Then you would remove the fim from the magazine and put it back into its container (also included). To do your own real filming you will need to aquire your own film however. Here you can see the gauge on the mag as it has been loaded into the camera. The gauge reads 0 because there's no film inside the mag. Here you can see the 3-lens turret. That's the 35mm LOMO lens. The turret where the lens is locked into is the active mount. This is the model of the camera. The camera model is 1KCP-1M. The number below that I believe is the serial number of the camera. This is the speed gauge on the camera. The gauge reads accurately at all speeds. Here, the battery (which is inside the power unit) is charging. The battery is up to 6.78 volts at this point. Here the battery is now fully charged, indicated by FUL. This is the 6-volt rechargeable SLR battery inside the power unit. The cover of the power unit has been easily unscrewed and removed to show you the battery. This is the knob that allows you to detach the 15EPSS motor from the camera. Here I am turning the knob. Here I have pulled the 15EPSS motor down away from its secured position. Here I have removed the 15EPSS motor from the camera. The 15EPSS motor (now seperated from the camera) is still attached to the power unit. The is the part that inserts into the camera. This turns the shutter and runs the film. When the motor is in the camera you can turn this knob and it will turn the shutter manually. That little button on the motor, when pressed runs the camera. Here's a close-up on the button on the motor that runs the camera. This is the speed dial on the power unit. This is where you can change the fps (frames per second) filming speed. Here, the XLR recharging cable is plugged into XLR input of the power unit. That's the on-off switch of the power unit where my finger's pointing to. Here, I am plugging the 15EPSS motor cable into the motor's input of the power unit. If I were to press the button on the motor now the camera would run. Here's the 6V SLR battery inside the power unit. The power unit's cover has been removed. Here's the versions, serial # and date of the upgrade by Olex Services. This is located inside the power unit and visible once the cover is removed. Here, I am freeing the latch to rotate the turret in order to more easily remove the lens. I have rotated the turret and decided to place the lens at the top. I am pressing on the latches in order to remove the lens from its mount. I have unscrewed the lens from the camera. This is the 35mm LOMO prime lens. These are the 60m magazines. Here are 4 out of the 5 of them. The other one is in the camera. Here is the 5th 60m magazine, loaded in the camera.
