I have another lens of the same model that I purchased while this was in to Canon Factory Services to have the focus distance meter re-set (it was stuck on 3 meters). This is now back from Canon and in perfect working condition. I have taken good care of this baby and hope to place it in a loving home. It has a few minor cosmetic blemishes (just small paint nicks). I have not used a magnifying glass when inspecting the len's front glass, but from what I can tell it's perfect. Please look a my full resolution photos of this lens before purchasing (see below). I will not give a refund for paint blemishes. Perhaps what I call a small nick is large to you, so take a close look at those photos. Along with the lens, I am including the leather front cap, hood, plastic back cap, and Canon carrying case. This lens, in the past three years, has made some of the best bird photos in the world. The photos made with this lens are in many, many national publications (field guides, Birder's World, Birds and Bloom, Birding Magazine, etc etc). This lens still takes every bit as good a photo as the day I first picked it up in December of 05. I typically use it with Canon's matching 1.4 teleconverter. I prefer we not use paypal with this auction becuase the fee is too hefty and I'm not allowed to charge extra for use of paypal. I prefer you pay with personal check or money order.
