** Canon EF 200mm f/1.8 L USM ** ** Free Shipping ** The Canon EF 200mm f/1.8 L USM has become legendary among advanced amateur and professionals shooters alike for its long reach, tack-sharp optics and incredible f/1.8 maximum aperture. This lens is special and has a story that makes it unique. When I purchased this lens used back in summer 2005, I did so with the intent of having Canon Professional Services do a complete overhaul, cleaning and service. It turned out that the week after I bought it, Canon stopped servicing this lens. Having spoke to (and begged) Canon Professional Services after I purchased it, Canon agreed to service this lens and according to the service manager in their Jamesburg, NJ service facility, this lens was the very last 200mm f/1.8 lenses that Canon ever serviced. They did an outstanding job and I was very grateful at the time. Over the past three years I have used this lens for indoor tennis, basketball, hockey and concerts (oh, it's so good for concerts) and the f/1.8 aperture is a life saver when the action is fast and the light is low. Showing up with one of these baby's on the sidelines of a sporting event will make everyone around you drool and become jealous. The optics of this leans are perfect. No dust or scratches are evident on any of the optics. The body of the lens shows normal wear and tear, however, all the buttons work like a charm and the lens collar still rotates like butter. There are a few screws missing on the lens shade which can be clearly seen in one of the photos below, however, this is inconsequential and has no impact whatsoever on performance. The auction includes the lens, strap, shade, cover and case. The serial number of the lens is 15659. Inevitably, someone is going to ask why I am selling this lens. So let me preempt the question by telling you that I am in the market for a Subal underwater housing and for as much as I love this lens, my dollars are better allocated putting the money toward that purchase. My heart may be heavy the next time I need this lens and no longer own it, but as they say, C'est La Vie! I am a professional photographer and have taken exceptional care of this lens.
