BELL & HOWELL MOVIE PROJECTOR FILMOSOUND 8 8/8 #458A Start Price USD 29.99 Current Price USD 50.52 Time Left - Bid Count 7 Buy It Now Price - Reserve Price - Start Time Monday, November 24, 2008 End Time Thursday, December 04, 2008 Location Beaumont, California See more about 'BELL & HOWELL MOVIE PROJECTOR FILMOSOUND 8 8/8 #458A' Description Up for auction is this very nice "BELL & HOWELL FILMOSOUND 8 MOVIE PROJECTOR THAT PLAYS BOTH 8mm AND SUPER 8mm FILM Model 458A."  This projector was purchased from an estate sale in Yucaipa, CA.  It works great.  It plays both the Super 8mm and 8 mm film.  This projector does play sound but I do not have the cassette tape recorder and the special cord for sound.  I have seen the sound recorder listed on e-bay before.  The directions to play sound are on the inside of the Bell & Howell lid.  The projector works great.  I was playing both my Super 8mm and 8mm films testing the machine.  The front of the outside of the machine says, "BELL & HOWELL FILMOSOUND 8 AUTOMATIC REWIND.  The reel is stored inside the projector lid.  The projector has the switch to change from Super 8mm to 8mm and next to that switch has the sound  speed control.  The lens says made in Japan.  The back of the projector has a place where the cord wraps around.  The cord is in excellent shape.  It measures approximately 85 inches long.  The back has a metal plate that says, "BELL & HOWELL AUTOLOAD - Design 458A - 120 Volts 5 AMPS - 60 Cycle Made in U.S.A.  The top of the projector has the handle for easy carrying.  The projector measures approximately 11 inches wide by 8 1/2 inches wide and stands approximately 9 1/2 inches tall.  It weighs approximately 16.9 pounds.  Boxed and wrapped will be heavier.  There are a couple scratches on the inside of the projector from use.  Nothing to major.  I took several pictures for viewing. It is always fun when the holidays come around and all the family is over to pull out all the Super 8mm films and watch the good old days.  If you have adult children or grandchildren they always get a good laugh watching the old movies.
