This is quite a rare filter. This filter is to be mounted to lenses with a 72mm thread and can be used with B&W, colour negatives, slide films, as well as digital and video cameras with the correct diameter thread. This is a high quality Japanese-made filter, as opposed to the cheaper / lesser quality (in my opinion) 'UV', Phillipines-made filters currently available!! As a photographer friend said to me recently, "Putting an inferior filter over your camera lens is the same as having a defective element in your lens." This filter can be used with both FILM and DIGITAL SLR cameras. Optical filters are made from high-grade optical glass. The HAZE 2A is a much stronger filter than the normal UV / HAZE filter. It is perfect for the very harsh Australian climate.   The 2A will safeguard your lens and absorb UV light.  Film and video are more sensitive to UV light than our eyes are. This often shows up as a bluish cast in images, especially shots from high altitudes and long distances, particularly over water.   These glass filters absorb the ultraviolet ray which makes outdoor photographs hazy and indistinct. Constant use of this filter is recommended for clearer pictures as well as a lens protector. Optical filters ensure sharp and brilliant images without ever impairing the lens quality.
