This is considered a cheaper alternative to EVS etc but still offers full edit, super slo mo options and a lot of OB trucks still use this instead of EVS. It can also record the 75 frames a second cameras also if the setup is done right.    The PDR family is considered one of the most versatile hard disk recorder server systems as can be installed to do anything from OB trucks for editing, slo mo or camera recording or can be installed in studios for playing out, time delay for TV channel playing out etc etc. IT can be controlled with the built in remote panels or can be controlled with external remotes. The systems canbe networked over ehternet or fibre channel for control, sending / receiving video etc,  automation playing / recording etc. . The system has time code, AES, embedded video audio, analog audio option, genlock option, system timing etc etc.   The system can handle upto 10,000 video clips for playback / editing / recording etc.   SLO mo on the hard disk recorder  can be forwards or reverse from  0.05 speed  upto 16x speed using the built in control panel (you can also go directly to any point of the clip with a click of a button. This means you have full slo mo flexibility. Usually you will playback in 0.25x  speed for slo mo for most sport things.     We can supply a PDF manual for the system also should you need.   If you need a copy of the software we can supply this also. The system comes with installed software of course. If needed, can supply the software on a backup CD also and also the manual on CD also if you need.   The system is currently setup with 4 separate SDI inputs and 4 separate SDI outputs as standard and then can be changed in the software   and setup using mpeg2 mode to record 2 mpeg2  record inputs and 4 play out 4 mpeg2 outputs  at the same time (6 channel it becoms then If you want, you can run mjpeg and mpeg2 at the same time also.)   Each video channel is recorde  or played out with 4 audio channels.  This audio can be embedded audio in the video signal or AES audio via the XLR bearkout box which is included also or analog audio via the optional PAC breakout box. You an also connect external remote panels to the system via 9pin serial connections on the machine or upto 8 panels  on the RS422  breakout box. Examples are sony BVW / RM remotes, other controllers which also work with EVS or other edit systems.  We have external remotes which operate 4 VTR channels from 1 remote with slo mo / edit. (possibly available for sale as an extra)   You can use it like an evs with a separate external control panel for for playing back or slo mo etc with jog shuttle wheel etc. remote panels need rs422 pin connector on them. Not sure but you maybe able to also use BVW remote panels or BVE editors  with the system but do check, The system was used with the main monitor screen where all 4 remotes are on the 1 screen so we used it without external remotes (we used it with the remotes displayed on the screen)     You can connect the external  remote panels for each channel  to the 9pin rs422 ports on the machine, whether the Com1  (beside  the mouse / keyboard conectors)  or on the external remote extension panel.  We are supplying 1 external 8 port extension panel which we think is from the machine but no cable for it though of curse.     The system of course has 4 separate MjPEG codecs as standard, then has extra 2x mpeg2 encoderss and 4x mpeg2 decoders  installed so is a true 4  channel  or 6 channel hard disk recorder / player as can record 4 inputs as the same time or record 2 and playout 4 etc.  The system has timecode, AES audio, video crosspoints,, video routr etc so what ever setup you want to setup, the machine can do it.   The system can run in mjpeg and mpeg2 mode at the same time.     It has a fibre channel card installed so the movie files can be sent or received in high data speed transfers. (ideal for copy the movie files fro the server to your main studio base say or something like that.   The system is network ready also of course or can be used as a standalone unit. (ideal for small camera truck maybe even or uplink truck also)     The system is made by Tektronix (grass valley)  and is model  PDR300 Profile hard disk recorder. (PDR324D)  The oroginal config may not of been DR324D but the system was upgraded to PDR324D config specs.     The system is setup with 4x SDI digital component inputs and 4 SDI digital component outputs. Each input or output can be recorded with 4 channels of audio aswell as timecode etc. you can monitor the output of the record channel also in SDI if channel not used for playing out.  If you use the system in mpeg2, then 2 of the SDI inputs become outputs also.   What this means is you can record upto 4 different SDI inputs at the same time and also then play out upto 4  SDI outputs. You can play out the same file you are still recording also which is a great option with edit option for this also.GREAT for REPLAYS   You can configure the system so the playing out is on time delays etc if you want   As the system has a built in video router etc  You can set it up so all 4 inputs record the same input if you want or play out 2 outputs from the same file etc. You can play back while recording etc if you want also. Currently the machine is setup to record 4 separate inputs and play out 4 separate outputs   You can connect external remote panels to the system for ease of use if you want.     The system can record upto 4 separate channels of audio per input, and likewise play out 4 channels also per output.  You have timecode also.   The system can be run in PAL and NTSC, (eg. 1 input in pal, 1 in ntsc if you want or full flexibility in your setup).   The system can be genlocked, has fibreoptic etc. USe over fibre optic network and then you can send / receive video files over the network etc. think fibre optic transfer rate is 1000mb / s but can check if needd.   The system was tested for 4 hours to ensure full warm up and testing with recording and playback etc.  All 4 inputs were tested and recorded at the same time, and again, playing out 4 different programs at the same time.    Passwords are suppled with the system     As the system is faily big, (approx 5 or 6U) delivery is about £55 to UK.  EU shipping price is to counties like france, germany, holland.  delivery to harder to reach countries may be more expensive.   TERMS & CONDITIONS:- Item Condition:- Most of the equipment we sell is broadcast studio equipment which was working before it was removed.We do our best to test the equipment as best we can.Please note as the equipment is second hand,There are no warrantie's on the equipment.
